Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) to Mongolia Mr. Peter Schaller was received on Friday, September 9 by the Premier S.Batbold. Beginning the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Schaller for being appointed as the German Ambassador to Mongolia, and expressed a satisfaction with it. The Premier underlined that the two countries have a wide opportunity to develop the bilateral cooperation in all spheres. “Germany is a big partner of Mongolia in Europe. Some 40 thousand Mongolians speak German. They have been playing a main role in developing the bilateral relations,” the Prime Minister said. Underlining a vital importance to establish a partnership and cooperation agreement between Mongolia and the European Union (EU), S.Batbold said the government is working with a goal to introduce European standards in Mongolia. In turn, the Ambassador highlighted that the economy of Mongolia is rapidly growing, and said he was satisfied with working as the German Ambassador to Mongolia in the proper times of intensifying the bilateral economic cooperation. He pledged to work with highest efforts to strengthen the Mongolia-Germany cooperation. Mr. Schaller reported to the Premier that the Chancellor of Germany Mrs. Angela Merkel will pay a visit to Mongolia soon, and hoped the government of Mongolia would closely cooperate with him in the office.
